Our Story
While vacationing in the Caribbean in 1997, our founder, Raziyah, had a vision to bring women together through dialogue, with strength and purpose. As a result, the first retreat was held in Beech Mountain, NC that fall with the assistance of her sister friend, Rosalind Hill. The event drew women from all over. This retreat yielded a women’s group, The Time for Healing. The groups’ members were from all over the country. As a result, the group rapidly expanded, and the retreats hosted a plethora of attendees.
2004 brought Raziyah enlightenment and the birth of a new company, Nu Journey, LLC: a human service company with flair. The company encompassed all of her previous experience to include all individuals. She focused on bringing out the inner light in everyone through retreats.

Through carefully crafted programming, heartfelt hospitality, and intentional bonding, we aim to cultivate a space that encourages self-reflection, personal transformation, and authentic connection with others and the natural world. Our vision is to facilitate moments of insight, healing, and renewal that resonate long after the retreat ends, guiding participants towards a deeper sense of purpose, presence, and fulfillment in their lives."
